Senior Accountant - Job Description
Position Overview
The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing key accounting functions, ensuring the integrity of financial records, and supporting strategic financial decision-making. This role leads critical month-end and year-end processes, prepares management and Board-level reporting, and collaborates cross-functionally to support financial planning, operational performance, and cash management. The ideal candidate brings strong GAAP expertise, advanced ERP proficiency, and experience within manufacturing or related industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform full month-end and year-end close processes, including general ledger analysis, accruals, prepaids, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and management reports for monthly internal review and quarterly Board of Directors presentations.
- Oversee and direct Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions to ensure efficient processing, accuracy, and internal control compliance.
- Conduct financial forecasting and budgeting activities in partnership with department leaders and executive management.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external banking partners, coordinating financial documentation, reporting, and transactional support.
- Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts and monitor liquidity to support operational decision-making.
- Report on department-level revenue, margins, and profitability KPIs, providing insights to drive performance improvements.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience as a Senior Accountant; experience in manufacturing or related industries strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- CPA certification highly preferred.
- Strong understanding and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Advanced proficiency with ERP systems such as Oracle, Oracle NetSuite, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with Salesforce and ADP is a plus.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to interpret and present financial data to stakeholders at all levels.
